Damien Johnson was introduced to the cello at a very young age by Nathan Wax , who provided a strong technical foundation for his playing, and nurtured a deep love of the instrument.
He then studied at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, under the tutelage of Lois Simpson. He was a regular performer at the Conservatorium, and was a member of the Sydney Youth Orchestra, with whom he toured with on several occasions.
He now resides predominantly in Wagga Wagga, as cello and guitar teacher, which has been his base for 14 years., performing regularly as a member of the chamber music group Trio Al Quartetto and other various ensembles.
He has served on the Board of Directors as staff representative, Acting Associate Director, assisting with policy and curriculum development, strategic direction and WHS compliance.
Returning to the local community, Sivonne brings experience in communication and event organisation gained in a range of organisations in Melbourne and overseas.
Sivonne joined the team at South West Music in 2016 to help organise and promote concerts at South West Music.
