I am pleased to announce that our application for funding from NSW Department of Education and Communities for the 2013/14 to 2015/16 triennium has been successful. Our organisation has demonstrated a growth rate of over 40% during the period from 2010-2012. With our funding assured for another three years we can continue to deliver high quality music education and performance programs in our region. All we need now is a permanent home.

Office bearers have now been elected for our 2013/14 Board of Management as follows:

TERM 4 ENROLMENTS – Lessons begin on Tuesday 8th October
Continuing Students:
Many thanks to those who have paid their invoices by the due date of 13th September. Students are placed on the Term 4 roster once payment is received. To avoid the disappointment of missing your first lesson, please finalise payments immediately. Payments may be made online, by cheque or by phoning with your credit card details.
Our office hours are:
8.30-3.00 Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays
1.00-5.00 Wednesdays
However, our Administration Officer will be on leave on Wednesday 2nd October and Thursday 3rd October.
New Students:
New students may enrol at any time. Please contact Chris van Zeyl,
the Administration Officer on 5881 4736 or email her at
admin@swmusic.org.au and ask for an enrolment package.
In order to be placed on the teacher’s timetable in any of South West Music’s programs, you must complete 2 steps:
1. Submit a completed enrolment form
2. Pay your invoice
Once you have completed both Steps 1 and 2 then you will be placed on the teaching roster.

BUSH CONCERT SERIES
Teranga – African Band
18th October: 5:30pm, Moulamein Football Oval, Tickets $10
19th October: 4pm, Waring Gardens, Deniliquin (FREE)
BRING YOUR OWN CHAIR OR PICNIC RUG!!
TerangaTeranga is an exciting African Band. They are part of the Musica Viva program and have travelled extensively around the state performing and teaching in schools. Those who attended the Sousaphonics Concert will see one familiar face amongst the band – Sam who played the sousaphone and trumpet is also a member of Teranga. We hope to see the sun shining on 19th October and some interesting sounds and beats in Waring Gardens. Our wet weather back up venue is St Michael’s school hall.

TERANGA – DRUMMING WORKSHOP FOR YALLAMBEE CLIENTS
Teranga will share a drumming workshop with Yallambee clients on Saturday 19th October from 12pm. There will be lots of excitement amongst our friends at Yallambee and we hope to see them all at the afternoon concert.

TERANGA – DRUMMING WORKSHOP FOR SCHOOL AGED STUDENTS
We are able to offer a limited number of places for a Drumming Workshop to school aged students on Saturday 19th October from 10.30am – 11.30am. The Workshop will be held at Yallambee
142 Napier St. The cost is $10. Register by contacting South West Music on 5881 4736. “First in best dressed”.
