South West Music Christmas Concert Review

Posted by in Uncategorized | December 3, 2013

Congratulations to all of our performers at our recent Christmas Concert. The program was full of variety and the audience of around 100 people certainly enjoyed an entertaining afternoon.

The Christmas Concert is a highlight in the South West Music calendar. It is always so satisfying to see the growth in our students and this year was no exception. Our six teachers had prepared their students well and the audience was treated to performances on drums, guitar, ocarina, xylophones, piano and vocals. Not only did the concert illustrate the achievements of our students it also shone the light on our dedicated teachers.

The opportunity to perform is an important one. It leads to focused practise, coping with performance anxiety, takes the student out of their comfort zone, builds their self-esteem and inspires them to continue with their instrument.

South West Music students are incredibly busy over the final weeks of school. They will be well represented in final school assemblies, school presentation events, end of term SWM concerts and the December Muso’s night (6th Dec). We must pay tribute to our teachers who do so much to prepare their students for all of these events as well as our own Christmas Concert.
