2023 Concert Series

We have prepared a very exciting concert series program for 2023.

To begin the year and once the flooding has subsided, we plan to have harpist Hilary Manning come to Deniliquin to perform at the multi-arts centre across the road. Hilary will present a solo concert of ‘summertime’ harp music. Featuring a collection of familiar classical music and more contemporary Australian pieces. This promises to be a beautiful afternoon concert followed by drinks and canapes in the Waring Gardens. This event will happen in February.

In April, we are putting on a children’s interactive performance presented by Jemma Armstrong of Jamming with Jemma. Jemma is best known for her work with ABC Kids playing Hootabelle on the much-loved preschool program Giggle and Hoot. Jemma is a children's music specialist, performer and ABC published artist with a great passion for musical play and storytelling. This event will be part of the annual easter Deni Fest. We feel very strongly about encouraging music in young children and this is event is a great example of that.

In May we will be hosting a series of bush dances with music by the Berrigan Bush Drovers band. These are fun events for all ages having the opportunity to get up and give line dancing a go. I recently had the pleasure of seeing the Berrigan Bush Drovers perform. They play a fabulous variety of vibrant country music. These events form our Small Town Folk series.

In June are very lucky to have secured the Victorian Welsh Men’s Choir. They are a traditional Welsh choir singing mainly in Welsh. The choristers come from all over Victoria. This event will be held in the Deniliquin Baptist Church which is the perfect venue for this type of performance.

In October we will be hosting our annual Swing On The Grass event at the Deniliquin Golf Club. This is an afternoon of jazz in the sunshine out on the lawn featuring the Dawn Ho Quintet who come from Melbourne.

We plan to launch our 2024 season in November similar to this event. This will be another classical music event with more details to come throughout the year.

We offer annual subscriptions to our live music series. These memberships cost $120 and give you access to all of our events. Subscription sales are now open. These are available to purchase from the Conservatorium. These also make wonderful Christmas gifts! All of the money raised goes towards putting on our concerts series.

We couldn’t do events like this, or teach music, without the support of the NSW Government Department of Education, and ALL of our valuable sponsors and partners, 2QN, Edward River Council, South West Arts, Purtills and the Deniliquin Pastoral Times.

We have a sponsorship packages available for the 2023 concert series program, so if you are a local business who would like to support us, please email concerts @swmusic.org.au

We would like to take this opportunity to thank our amazing volunteer committee who make these events possible.
