Dear Parents and Students,
TERM 4 Announcements
Our team and teachers look forward to seeing you in class during term 4. Please read the information below for important announcements related to changes we are making to our operations that may affect you.
Makeup lesson policy changes.
The policy of the Conservatorium is that if you or your student miss a class, and notify us in time, a makeup class needs to be organised. Starting in Term 4, we are now giving you further options in relation to making up lessons missed. The new options will be as noted below:
(i) Organise a suitable time with your tutor in their schedule.
(ii) On Saturday of Week 5 (11th November) and Week 10 (16th of December) of term, a schedule will be available to book your tutor to do make-up classes at South West Music’s site in Deniliquin.
(iii) For students taking lessons at a school site, Week’s 1 – 9 will now be lesson weeks with Week 10 being Make-up classes only. No normal lessons will run in Week 10.
Please make sure you are aware of this change.
Change over to Xero Accounting for Invoices
In Term 4, we are changing over to the Xero accounting package for sending out term invoices. Please make sure your e-mail is up to date as this is the main way we will be sending invoices out.
Nonpayment of Fees
We regretfully have had an increase in customers not paying their lesson fees. As a result, and after much discussion, we have had to update our terms of trade, reflected in our Student Handbook and will be noted appear on invoices. The main change to be aware of is below:
South West Music Limited may refer any outstanding account for debt collection or issue legal proceedings to recover any outstanding invoices. Should an account be referred for debt collection debt collection charges, to be calculated at not less than 20% plus GST, will be incurred on the day the matter is referred to their nominated debt collection agency, Marshall Freeman. The Customer shall also be liable for interest and all legal recovery costs associated with such action on a solicitor and own Customer or indemnity cost basis.
Are you ceasing lessons – please let us know.
While we will be sad to see you go, we understand that things happen that affect people’s schedules. Please let us know if you are stopping lessons ASAP.
Thank you for taking the time to go through these changes. If you have to discuss any of them, you can contact me at (03) 5881 4736
