Hilary Geddes Trio delivers bold, improvisation-rich music with heart and nuance. Audiences can expect an emotionally resonant performance showcasing the virtuosity and interplay between three of Australia's most lauded jazz musicians.
Event Bio:
Presented by South West Regional Conservatorium as part of their Live Concert Series, Hilary Geddes’ Redleaf merges jazz, indie, and experimental influences in an emotionally resonant set driven by her stellar quartet. With pianist Matt Harris and double-bassist Max Alduca, Geddes delivers bold, improvisation-rich music with heart and nuance.

Meet The Artists:
Hilary Geddes Bio: Hilary Geddes is an award-winning composer and guitarist who grew up and went to school in Griffith, NSW. She is the 2021 Freedman Jazz Fellow and the 2019 Jann Rutherford Memorial Award recipient. In 2021, she released her AIR-award nominated debut album Parkside (ABC Jazz) with Hilary Geddes Quartet. The group have performed at Melbourne International Jazz Festival, as well as at Art Gallery of NSW's inaugural VOLUME festival. In 2024, she supported Marcus Miller (USA) at his sold-out City Recital Hall concert. Outside of jazz and improvised music, Hilary is a member and lead guitarist in the rock band The Buoys.
Matt Harris Bio: Matt Harris is a graduate of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. He has performed throughout Sydney and Australia with a variety of Australian and international artists, including Katie Noonan, Mat Jodrell, Will Vinson, Barney McAll and Angela Davis. He is also the pianist in the contemporary jazz group, Jiem, who released their sophomore album, 'Laying Down A Path In Walking' in 2024.
Max Alduca Bio: Max Alduca is one of Australia's most in-demand bassists, regularly touring nationally and internationally with Hamed Sadeghi's Eishan Ensemble, Hilary Geddes, The Pocket Trio, Microfiche and many others. He has also worked with prominent artists including Mike Nock, Paul Grabowsky and Dale Barlow. Last year, he released his debut album, Monastery on Earshift Music to great acclaim.
