Part of the Live Music Concert Series presented by the South West Music Regional Conservatorium
Winter Classical Concert Featuring Yarra Winds
Saturday 3 August 2024, 2pm
In August, South West Music Regional Conservatorium presented Yarra Winds. A woodwind sextet consisting of prize winning chamber students from the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music – University of Melbourne. We are very proud of the strong relationship we have built with the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music.
The flute's gentle whispers, the clarinet's rich tones, and the oboe's mournful melodies transported the audience to a world of elegance and refinement. The intricate fingerwork and breath control of the musicians left all in awe. The concert featured timeless masterpieces by Leos Janacek and Astor Piazolla.
During the interval our guests were treated to biscuits made by the participants at Kurrajong. Our relationship with Kurrajong is very important to us. We thank our audience for supporting this wonderful initiative.
