River Song Choir Project

Thankyou to our community for supporting our River Song Choir Finale. What a night to remember!!

After months of practicing, our primary school choirs came together. Participating schools included Barham Public School. Mayrung Public School, St Michaels Parish School Deniliquin and South West Musics Young Voices Choir. Sadly due to the current flooding conditions, St Josephs Parish School from Hillston could not attend.

Students rehearsed all day at the Conservatorium. Rotary donated their time to cook a wonderul sausage sizzle. With their tummies full, students were taken to the Baptist Church, Deniliquin for a final dress rehearsal before the show began.

With near to 300 people in Baptist Church including 71 childrens choir members, the excitement was building in the air. The Wamba Wamba Perrepa Perrepa gave a beautiful Welcome To Country. The introductory speeches had begun when ................. THE POWER CUT OUT IN DENILIQUIN!!!!

South West Music wanted the show to go on. With the help of parents and torches on their phones, the River Song combined choir safely moved to the stage where they sang their 3 songs. The children were spectacular!! They sang beautifully in such challenging circumstances.

We were also fortunate enough to have our local adult choirs perform - Sing Australia, Con Spirito Voices from Deniliquin, River Voices from Echuca and The Gents from Deniliquin.

We had planned to keep the lights on but despite being plunged into darkness, the show still went on!
